Terms of Service

Effective date: September 14, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of JoQuote, a software platform for service businesses. By creating an account or using the services, you agree to these Terms.

The services

JoQuote provides scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoices, online booking, crew payouts and reimbursements, cost tracking, and a mobile field app. Features may change over time as the product evolves.

Accounts and responsibilities

  • You are responsible for your account credentials and for the activity of your team members.
  • You must provide accurate business and billing information.
  • You are responsible for obtaining any consents required to contact and store information about your customers.

Your service data

You own the data you enter into the services, including customer records, job details, photos, and notes. You grant us a license to process that data solely to provide the services. Customer data you collect is yours — JoQuote is not responsible for the accuracy or legality of content you store.

Fees and payments

Subscription fees are billed on the plan you select and are non-refundable except as described in our Refund Policy. Payments processed on your behalf (customer payments, payouts) are handled by third-party payment processors subject to their terms. You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your business.

Plan changes and add-ons

You may change your subscription's plan at any time. When you do, the amount you have already paid for the current billing period is prorated: you are charged or credited only for the part of the period that has not yet run. A plan change does not start a new trial and does not change your billing date.

If the change costs more (an upgrade). The prorated difference for the rest of the current period is charged at the moment of the change, together with any tax that applies. The amount is the one our payment provider quotes, and which you confirm, before the change is made.

If the change costs less (a downgrade). Nothing is charged at the moment of the change. The prorated credit for the unused time is applied to your next invoice. It is not refunded to your card and it is not paid out in cash — which is why a downgrade costs nothing today and reduces your next bill instead.

Add-ons. These rules cover add-ons as well as the plan. If the plan you are moving to sells an add-on you are paying for at a different price, that add-on's price moves with the plan, and its prorated difference is charged or credited in the same way, and at the same time, as the plan's. An add-on you have already scheduled to stop at the end of the period is not re-priced; it ends when you arranged it.

If the plan does not sell an add-on you pay for. The change is not made, nothing is charged, and we tell you which add-on is the reason.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use the services for unlawful purposes or to store unlawful content.
  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform or other accounts.
  • Do not resell or sublicense the services without permission.

Illegal activity

You must not use JoQuote for any unlawful purpose or to store or transmit unlawful content — including fraud, money laundering, illegal goods or services, harassment, or content that infringes someone else's rights. This covers what you and your team put into the services, and what your customers submit through your booking and payment pages.

We do not monitor what you store or send. If we are told about, or reasonably believe there is, illegal activity on an account, we may suspend that account immediately where we consider it necessary to prevent harm, to protect other customers, or to comply with the law. When we suspend an account we also cancel its subscription, so you are not billed for a service you cannot use. Where it is lawful and practical, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond before deciding whether to terminate; a suspension may be lifted if the concern is resolved, and you would then subscribe again.

If we terminate for a serious breach — including illegal activity — fees already paid are not refundable. While an account is suspended we may keep its data so it can be restored or exported if the suspension is lifted, or to meet a legal obligation; if it becomes a termination, our deletion terms apply. We may report illegal activity to law enforcement and cooperate with them, as our Privacy Policy describes.

Publishing content and reporting abuse

Some JoQuote services let you publish information to the public — a booking or quote page, an estimate or job link, a payment page, and any website you publish through us. You are responsible for what you publish. You must have the rights and the permissions you need for everything you put there, including photographs: if a photograph shows a customer, their property or their staff, you must have their permission to publish it. You must not publish anything unlawful, anything that infringes another person's rights, anything misleading, or anything that impersonates another business or person.

Reporting content to us. Anyone — including someone who is not a JoQuote customer — can report content published through JoQuote. The procedure, and the address to use, are published on our website at /report-abuse. We review every report we receive.

What we may do. If we are told about, or reasonably believe there is, content that breaches this section, we may withdraw the public content while we investigate. Withdrawing public content stops it being published: it does not suspend your account, it does not cancel your subscription, and your team keeps access. We will tell you when we have done it, and you may respond. We may then restore the content, restore it with changes, or remove it.

Search engines and copies. We control only what we publish. If a search engine or another service has indexed or copied a page, removing our page does not remove their copy, and we cannot remove it on your behalf. You accept that we do not control those copies.

Intellectual property

The JoQuote software, branding, and content are our property. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to use the services for your internal business operations.

Availability and warranties

The services are provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep JoQuote reliable but do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we disclaim implied warranties to the extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JoQuote is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for amounts exceeding the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account.

Before you close your account, export what you want to keep. JoQuote keeps no copy for you: there is no backup and no restore. Once the grace period and our review are complete, your account and its data are permanently erased — customers, jobs, estimates, invoices, payments, photos, files, team and settings — and this cannot be undone. Deleting your account also revokes the third-party authorisations you granted through JoQuote (your connected accounting provider's stored tokens are revoked at that provider and deleted; a connected Stripe account is unlinked and its transfers turned off), so reconnecting later means authorising from scratch.

The exports we provide (invoices, costs and customers as CSV) are your own record and are not a way to restore the account.

Jobs, estimates, photos, checklist results and signatures cannot be exported in bulk, so save anything you need from those screens before you close your account.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the services after an update means you accept the new Terms.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either of us may apply to any court for urgent injunctive or declaratory relief, and either of us may bring an individual claim in a small-claims court that has jurisdiction.

If you are located where the law gives you rights that cannot be waived, nothing in these Terms affects those rights. Where any such mandatory law applies despite this section, the rest of these Terms continues to apply.
